I saw you last night
I saw you last night and ny heart took flight
said to myself "this just aint right"
but without hesitation you took my hand
told me no apology necessary, that you understand
told me you forgave me for the time that has passed
said " no matter the distance our bond would always last"
i saw peace in your smile & amazing eyes
i could feel as though i would lose control and started to cry
you comforted me as i explained the pain i been feeling
told me now was a time reserved to start the healing
you said you were at peace, i need not be so angry
you said you were happy now and you felt truly free
the sun was on its rise when you said you had to be on your way
but selfishly i begged you to stay
i told you i loved you and didnt want you to go
i said you'd be in my heart always.. you simply said " i know"
when i opened my eyes i was overcome with sorrow
and i realized i had tears on my pillow
our conversation was real, or so it seemed
I SAW YOU LAST NIGHT, BUT ONLY IN A DREAM
said to myself "this just aint right"
but without hesitation you took my hand
told me no apology necessary, that you understand
told me you forgave me for the time that has passed
said " no matter the distance our bond would always last"
i saw peace in your smile & amazing eyes
i could feel as though i would lose control and started to cry
you comforted me as i explained the pain i been feeling
told me now was a time reserved to start the healing
you said you were at peace, i need not be so angry
you said you were happy now and you felt truly free
the sun was on its rise when you said you had to be on your way
but selfishly i begged you to stay
i told you i loved you and didnt want you to go
i said you'd be in my heart always.. you simply said " i know"
when i opened my eyes i was overcome with sorrow
and i realized i had tears on my pillow
our conversation was real, or so it seemed
I SAW YOU LAST NIGHT, BUT ONLY IN A DREAM
