Whenever I think of Budda, I think of Big Mama

The one you can call up at any hour

The one you talk to when you don’t understand

Whenever faced with conflict, she always has a plan.

No matter what and no matter who, she tries to help

Whatever the situation and regardless to what she felt

She puts God first, everyone knows

Even though she might be going through whatever, which is seldomly told

We never ask, too busy dumping everything onto you, we forget

That you’re only human, and you have feelings too

But if noone acknowledges your efforts, and your lifelong tries

I do and I thank you, enough of that, I’m not here to make you cry.

You May not think we listen to when you “preach”

You do a good job because anyone can say something but you

You break it down to a science, you teach

I’m just trying to tell you that I feel blessed to have you in my life

And I just thank God that He has lent you to me for this time

I love you and I pray to celebrate many many, many many more birthdays

If Im blessed to do that, that”ll b just fine.

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
