    I thought I could

    I thought I could write
    because
    of this pain
    Poetry is an outlet
    for unbearable
    I thought I could
    pull my hair out
    for relief
    it only hurts
    if you let it
    I thought I could be
    grown up and patient
    and strong
    What good is it...
    to lie to myself
    Im crazy with hurt
    with loniness,with fear
that if I close my eyes
    you'll disappear
    I thought I could slip
    past all those haunted
    emotions...this time
    I thought I could write
    because the paper
    is my friend...

That's so beautiful & heart-felt. Well done. I hope to read more of these kinds of poems you have, if I may please.

I really love this poem. Great job!

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
