IDOLS
I wanted to be one of them
To devour and ingest
Then I could once be full and well and find a place to rest
Their beauty and image is what I yearned
I sought it day by day
And in my mind it never stopped unless I stopped to pray
For my hunger never filled,my envy never slept
And in the corners of myself I often sat and wept
Then I sought his presence
He showed me who I am
This mighty God of jealousy
Who once became a lamb
