    Immortal

    immortal love undead,
your heart barren words left unsaid.
four times I have given my heart to thee,
four times you have thrown it back at me.
a fool I know in the worst way,
I can never make you stay.
you move on keeping only material things,
only I have to show the pain it brings.
you walk away again a clean slate,
while I cry the lonely tears I hate.
    my heart screams no more,
I won't let you walk back through my door.
but who am I to lie to myself,
my heart has always been handy on your shelf.
So slowly as I age and die,
    my immortal love will cry
    call my soul to thee,
    immortal love beckons me

I like it. I do understand it. Very well written.

    very well done

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

    Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
