Is Rock Dead
What ever happened to rock and roll
And what it meant in days of old
When Jimi talked to us with his guitar
I remember when they said
In great big headlines, Janis dead
Something else in rock had died with her
In the days of their reign
They said they thought they were insane
But look at all the things they left behind
Well I wonder if the rock is dead.
Or better things lie up ahead
Can this glitter rock really survive?
What can you see in painted faces?
Made up people in made up places
Seems the cost of freedom meant so much more
I remember a song by Mr. Young
Said soon these things are overcome
And the truth can not be hid behind a lie
I think the day is close at hand
When the people will demand
That the meaning in rock and roll be returned
