There are things in my life I try to forget
Like the obligations I never met
A father I have failed to be
A son I can only pray to see
I put on a mask to hide the pain
But hiding this will drive me insane
A family I so proudly called mine
Tonight, with another man, will dine
The boy I have been so proud to raise
I have not seen in many days
The woman I wanted to be my wife
Left me again, taking my life
How much I miss my little boy
Being his father gave me so much joy
I miss the kiss from my little man
These thoughts replay again and again
I try to tell myself to just let go
But my heart and soul keep saying no
I wish I could see him every day
I wish so much she decided to stay
Waking up without her still feels strange
All I can do now is try to change
My heart aches now for the things I have missed
I'm sure by now it is quite a list
    Today I missed his halloween
His birthday I have still not seen

awesome piece of work,, good rhythm, love the way it flows.. i've been in those shoes so i know the feeling very well,, very heart felt.. keep writing, i'll keep writing..

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
