JUST A MEMORY

JUST A MEMORY

Do I exist, so I am?
yet striving to persist
for as long as I can

An empty, spent shell
I stay alone, hidden away
trying to find some meaning
to wake for another day

Dreams have all gone away
like shadows cast in fading light
another empty sleep, empty soul
just one more restless night.....

Youth is only just a memory
of decades gone, chances spent
and broken promises to lament
with thoughts of what can never be

What purpose now may save me
and fill the future
with what should be?

a sad and mighty piece..written extremely wonderful with burstin' emotion...kudos!! Love & Light, Tierra @}-'-.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
