    Poem Commentary

The poem was writing for the Louisiana disaster, hoping that it will awake our inner consciousness of what may be the beginning of many events to come

    Katrina

From the ocean she came looking for her prey

And without pity her game she played

Spare no one she said, for I am here and no one

    Will be left to tell

Listen to my roar and feel my strength

It is you whom I came to claim

No place to run no place to hide no one can

Escape from the fury of my eye

Listen well for many of you another day

Shall never see, so pray that God takes pity

Of your soul, for my coming was foretold

It is said that I am the beginning of the end,

So wake up and understand that there is not

    A second chance

Cleansing is the meaning of my name

nice - and all to true - I to was in Katrina in St. Bernard LA

If I feel physically as if the top of my head were taken off, I know that is poetry.

    Emily Dickinson (1830-1886) American poet.
