    Lamentations

                              Lamentations

                 O how she has come to sit solitary;
                 How she has become a widow;
                 Profusely she weeps and her tears are upon her
                cheeks for no one to comfort her.
                Griefstricken, she herself has bitterness.

                It is nothing to all you who are passing along the
               way;
               Does there exist any pain like my pain that has
               been severely dealt out to me!
               Over these things I am weeping as a woman;
               My eyes, my eye is running down with waters;
              Someone to strengthen my soul is far away
              from me; to be comfortably ensconced.

             My heart has been overthrowned in the midst of
             me; my eyes have come to their end in sheer tears.
            You have given me enough of bitter things and
            soaked me with wormwood.
            You also do a casting off so that there is no peace
            for my soul. I have lost memory of what good is.

    It's good to share sadness of words with others.It's smooth the heart.

    Its true Iyothi, as when we drift in thoughts, feelings so alone and wonder just how we'll get by; when we shed each tears and feel inside there could be no more great pain; ah we need the " shock absorber " in friends around us. Thank you for giving an inspiring comment! Take care, Necy

    I read the writing very slowly knowing by the title, there is likely loss and heartbreak not easily gotten over nor forgotten. Thanks for sharing what is harsh reality, nothing lasts forever ... being thankful for what you had even when its gone. Enjoyed the heart touching read, thanks, be well k

    I read the peom with a heavy heart. Indeed it was written in a deep sorrow and pain. What a beautiful conviction to depict the sadness of a woman due to loneliness. The poetress was speaking from withing. She indeed deserves a huge appreaciation. May god bless her.

    Truly inspiring words Rahul; yes, human mind is a fascinating and strange thing that keeps the strength of emotions and intensity of feeling! Many thanks and God Bless!

    While i was reading the poem, i felt like crying... Its really painful when you lost someone... This is one nice piece... i like it...but i guess you need to change this line "You has (have) given me..."... very good job...

    When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
