Poem Commentary

i don't really what to say about this, but my anger was strong that i couldn't stop thinking about my country.

LET US LIVE!

LET US LIVE!

Bobo Kalenga

Let us live

With our miseries,

We are alone and we still alive,

But our whole world is now worthless.

With our laughter and tears

We can’t find our way during the day,

Nothing is perfect like it was before.

Let us live

Let us live

With our dried hearts

Full of bitterness of coming from far away,

Where we couldn’t even see the sun that helps

Our seeds blossom in an area

Where winter rules as king.

Let us live

Let us live

When we know that we are not victims

But survivors while our hidden tears

Are used in watering our roots.

Let us live

We stand outside during days and nights,

And no one worries about us

But the ground wants us to follow his way of living.

We are so different, we look alike,

And we come from here;

And from elsewhere at the same time.

Let us live

Let us live

With our eyes open,

Knowing that we are not strangers or victims,

But survivors.

That we don’t want to be ignored

But to be heard,

And drying up our tears so fast

Doesn’t make our sorrows go away.

Just,

Let us live and rejoice knowing

That it’s in its way,

The sun that will better our leaves.

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.
