Life of a Child
Tiny voices around me so near,Smiling faces so sweet and sincere,
Tones of innocence abundantly clear,
Joy and happiness, laughter and cheer,
These are the sounds that children make,
Like no other sound in the world to date,
No room for sadness, unhappiness or fear
Or quietness or solitude for children here,
Just make believe games, people and places,
A room full of dolls with sweet little faces,
A toy box of trucks or spaceships and such
That would never get picked up
If mama didn't make such a fuss,
Happy giggles of glee over something they see,
Pride from sucessfully climbing a tree,
Running and playing so hard they could drop,
Finding something they just have to show pop,
Inside the house for some cookies and milk,
Looking so proudly at something they built,
The life of a child so happy and carefree
Lies forever and always within you and me.
