The Weeping Willow Tree
The tears of my weeping willow tree
Fall upon the ground around me,
Branches hanging down in sorrow,
Tears for all those lost tomorrows,
No blooms to brighten each new day,
No sweet aroma as we pass that way.
The tears of Mary fell upon His feet,
An anguish tearing at her soul so deep,
His bloodied body hung down in sorrow,
He died so we could have tomorrow,
An eternity of immeasurable love,
Given that day by His Father above.
To all of those who don't believe
That the Son of God hung upon that tree,
You'll hang your head one day in sorrow
And tears you will cry for your lost tomorrow,
You'll look up and see what you have lost
And know that Jesus paid that cost.
I think about this as under my tree
I feel the tears falling all around me,
I look up to heaven and know no sorrow
And I thank God for my tomorrow.
Fall upon the ground around me,
Branches hanging down in sorrow,
Tears for all those lost tomorrows,
No blooms to brighten each new day,
No sweet aroma as we pass that way.
The tears of Mary fell upon His feet,
An anguish tearing at her soul so deep,
His bloodied body hung down in sorrow,
He died so we could have tomorrow,
An eternity of immeasurable love,
Given that day by His Father above.
To all of those who don't believe
That the Son of God hung upon that tree,
You'll hang your head one day in sorrow
And tears you will cry for your lost tomorrow,
You'll look up and see what you have lost
And know that Jesus paid that cost.
I think about this as under my tree
I feel the tears falling all around me,
I look up to heaven and know no sorrow
And I thank God for my tomorrow.
