losing the war

losing the war

From where I sat on a couch

I heard you try to catch your breath

Still keep your religion still keep your faith

In time of grief, you still kept your head up

Mind over body always sharp

your days were in shamble and counted

you fought every day against all odd

time and time again you came a winner

you lost the battle but never the war

oh dear God you failed her

she glorified your name till the end

did you put her out of her misery or betray her ?

you let her lose both the battle and the war

Dedicated to Zeni Adera

tnx Hiporlacking I don't understand when ppl say sh/he lost the battle with cancer...cancer is just a war zone one battle after another for a lost cause most of the time and almost always the cancer wins.

I know what you mean. That's all I have to say about this.

Poetry is what gets lost in translation.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
