    Lost Love

    Why should I love him?
    Why should I care?
I can't recall any good times
    Happy moments
Or fun things that we shared

    His evil painful words
    I still carry within
    I'm stupid
    Ugly
And I will never be thin

    All the emotional wounds
    Flow free in my veins
    My lost love
    Broken heart
    I'll forever feel the pain

I just wanted him to love me
    So hard I tried
    Never good enough
    Rejected
    And always pushed aside

I'll never again scream his name
    Call for him at night
    Waste another tear
    Surrender
Or allow him to win this fight

    He meant everything to me
    My world shattered
    But now I'm strong
    A survivor
    And his shit doesn't matter

I will try to forget about him
    Though I shouldn't even bother
    A long time ago
    Once
    I called him my father

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
