Maw Maw
the day i was born she was 58
she held the key to the gate
a wonderfull woman this i know
always held her head high and with such a glow
1926 was the year she was born
a few years later the u.s. was torn
she told me storiesof the depression over the years
said it was hard to grow up with so many fears
the day she met paw-paw a light came on
she said to his masculinity she was drawn
they had six children this no doubt
raised them in a quaint little house
maw-maw and paw-paw together for 45 years
when i think of them it brings tears
she was a women of quiet nature
and one hell of a baker
she would spend hours in the kitchen
oh those days i am now missing
sundays at the house was so much fun
how i hated when the day was done
she got alhiemers and her health declined
hard to talk to her though i tried and tried
in august of 2004 she passed away
still miss and love her to this day
she held the key to the gate
a wonderfull woman this i know
always held her head high and with such a glow
1926 was the year she was born
a few years later the u.s. was torn
she told me storiesof the depression over the years
said it was hard to grow up with so many fears
