Memories Of You

Not a moment do I seem to find
That you're not often wondering through my mind
I sometimes sit and think of your wonderful smile,
And just wish I could see it for a little while
It's so hard to believe, just how long it's been,
I cannot help but to think about it, time and again
There isn't a day that goes by,
That a thought of you doesn't make me cry
You were special, one of a kind,
Always putting others first, never leaving anyone behind
Oh, how I wonder, what you'd be doing today, if you were here,
Probably loving and helping your family, who you loved so dear.

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
