Mind of a Poet
Why are we driven,
To write verse that is given,
Somehow in our minds,
We always find,
A way to express,
The feelings that are pressed,
Upon us everyday,
In every way?
Some are bad,
And some are sad,
Some are great,
And some are fate.
We look for the meaning,
In the matter of being.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
