    Poem Commentary

this poem is for women who suffer at the hands of someone they love

    mis-loved

Doubt has keep me frozen in place
    Denying me freedom to escape
Fear that you'll figure it out
    and hurt me more
Never really able to fully let go
hatred fills this little heart of mine
not for you but me for being so blind
your love was never sensitive and sweet
because to you that was the definition of weak
for this i was the one to suffer
    alone and cold..
    your "love" grew tougher
A punching bag, a fist to the face
but still i was unable to get away
this "love" that burned in my heart
was an illusion it is a fake
    love me love me
    you raise your hand!
    Am i a fool?
    for still loving you
    walking out the door
    will i regret
    that i left

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

    Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
