    mother's love

here i sit alone and afraid,
this world i will never understand.
how dare you take away the life,
of the one who led me by my hand.
she was strong, brave and smart,
and she showered me with love.
the love she gave it meant so much,
but she's gone, way up above.
i am scared to admit it,
i fear it is very bad.
i need that feeling just once more,
of the love that i once had.
    can her love be replaced?
    i truly cannot say.
but just a chance to let me see,
    for it i do pray

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.
