    Moonless Night

    The mood is set
    In darkened hues.
    Shades of red
    And blacks and blues

    As I walk along
    The silver lake
    I contemplate
    My life to take.

    Dressed to the hilt
    In a wedding gown white,
    My hair shines not
    On this moonless night

    I turn to my right
Slip my feet in the water
    Bitter cold it is
    So I step out father.

    I never thought
    Life would end like this
    It’s strangely romantic
    The lake adorned in mist.

    On the bank
    I hear my lover,
    Scream my name
    While water covers –

    My hands my feet
    My arms my thighs
    Begin to go numb
    So I close my eyes.

    Before me I see
    Darkened hues
    Shades of red
    and blacks and blues.

    On the bank
    The man falls down fast.
    He mourns for his love
    Who has breathed her last.
