MY BEST FRIEND

He's Traveled Highways and every Roadside Latrine with me.
We've ventured, Rail Cars, Alleys, old cars, Parks with benches, and even Trees. We've used Love for an excuse, Sex for a weapon, Jobs for Hibernation just to be together. To say comfort was our goal, would be a cliché, Its said cleanliness is the next to Godliness, This was not to be, Not for My Best friend and ME. We've Stuck together like Paper to glue, loyal, Strongly Committed, Forever True. Till One Dark Night I took Leave Of My Senses, Broke The Head Of My Best Friend leaving Him in the clinches, As We Lie Filth Driven in a Ditch of Despair, How long of days none are given. Thus came a light to my Soul to unveil at Last
My Friend Are you There?! Searching for an answer, in a quiet Reply, But None is given............
Then Friend Goodbye.....................

What a journey you and your friend were on and then in the end your friend is gone - leaving you to move forward in life through the glorious light shining upon you in the absence of your friend.... KD

Poetry comes nearer to vital truth than history.

Plato (BC 427-BC 347) Greek philosopher.
