My Cup Overfloweth

Poem Commentary

Somehow the title is no longer working for me... anyone help me think of a new one? Same concept, just different wording.

My Cup Overfloweth

Give unto me trust and loyalty

It shall return to you ten-fold

For whatsoever you do unto me

In good faith and willingness

My passion burns more intensely

And thou shall have my word

My very essence to become yours alone.

Let me show you as none other has given

Take me for your own, and you will see how

My cup of love overflows and expels the

Sweet ambrosia nectar that melts into you

Caress the intricacies of my soul

To evoke a plethora of dreams

Weave them carefully within my heart

So as to rekindle them for another time.

Allow the melody of my voice to be carried

As doves on the wing to a bright galaxy far away

Do not be alarmed at my devotion, for it is for you

That I choose to maintain such loyalty

I could not bear another’s hand upon my breast

Setting fire to that deep inner sanctum within.

Trusting, loyal love between two .. given without hesitation, without distraction. So many great lines in these musical verses. "I could not bear another's hand upon my breast Setting fire to that deep inner sanctum within". You're rare! This is a weekly winner i hope that's not overlooked!

If I feel physically as if the top of my head were taken off, I know that is poetry.

Emily Dickinson (1830-1886) American poet.
