    My Darling

    My darling, my darling,
    How I love you dearly,
Each passing day fades to dawn a morning of mourning tears,
For I miss you so my darling dear,
So much that words escape my mouth and enter dining ears,
As they feast on my appetite of longing you so,
My hands placed before you a meal,
And with a smile you swallowed your pride and the cook enjoyed it also.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
