Poem Commentary

This is a poem about my dream about my friend who has been there for me through a lot of stuff. It's an amazing feeling when someone really loves you. I feel that this is accurate.

My Dream "Remarkable"

Step by step
She commenced her journey
Searching for the perfect someone
The someone who’d be there for her when she wasn’t for herself
The someone who’s words removed the blade from her back
The someone who’s love could be felt overseas
The one who’s smile lit up the darkest alleys of her mind
The one who’s hug melted away all insecurities
The one beautiful voice to calm her once raging sea
She turned, saw no one
Continuing on
Seeking “love” in all the wrong places
She sought after her mind
Denied her heart
Followed her head
though she wasn’t smart
on and on her steps decreased
she began to abhor the thing she thought she loved
all her walking led her to a gargantuan field
beautiful flowers stretched across the vast plain
the sun kissed the hills in the distance
a speck of white fluttered to the ground
walking forward she noticed it was a someone
lying still in the grass
a woman
dressed in white
hands supporting the head
eyes closed
ears opened
heart beating In the ears of she
slow, constant, incessant
she spoke
astounded to find someone lying in the midst of nothing
sitting up she turned around
closer observation revealed a beautiful specimen
too remarkable for words
she spoke
voice recognized her pain and erased it
at the period, she smiled
the sun rose to the sky
standing as a halo behind her head
mesmerized by the sight and feelings
she took her last step alone
embraced by the calming head
she felt her heart escape her body leaving her breathless
breathless
exhale
bloodstained shirt lost all color
her mind, once cloudy erased itself
zombie like state
she felt numb
faint
alive
healed
complete transformation
she pulled her closer
grabbed her sides for her arms could lift no higher
suddenly the moon replaced the sun
sun replaced the moon
moon replaced the sun
sun replaced the moon
the snow began to fall
the grass and flowers grew
the leaves fell from the trees
the heat surrounded them
the snow began to fall
at arms length, she looked into her eyes
gentle kiss
she fainted, awoke, and wrote it all down

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
