MY LOVE IS NOT BLIND
I am blind, yes, blind
Born as others born
Grow as others grow
Nurtured and loved by all
Cared for and well sheltered
Hoping to bring succour
Laugh once again
To a family in poverty
It happened, yes, happened
At two, eyes gone, gone
Light went off the eyes
Darkness sets in everywhere
Hope dashed and entirely gone
More pain, agony and sorrow
Overflowing and overwhelming
What such a life
Yet I hope further
Hoping to get better
Daring to be different
In spite of all challenges
Now, mother left at prime
Joy taken and never to come again
What else do I have?! Why Life?!
What such destiny? What Life?
Fate let me see my face
Even for once how beautiful I am
What colour covers the sky
How my caring brother looks like
How the helping stranger seems like
What home I live, bed I lay
But only to feel,
Only to hear and smell,
What such living?! Worth it?
Yet soon, my brother gone
Gone to stay with mum and never
Yes, never to return anyone
Oh! Life, why treat me this way!
My love walked in,
Promise heavens and earth,
Cloth me with hope
Yes, that hopes lie even ahead
Cared to undergone the pain
Pain to see once again
Promise to see him first
Where is my love?
Who stole my joy?
Love has gone and not seen
I know his voice but not him
How do I know him?
How do I find him?
Life, you dealt with me!
Yet my love is not blind
I heard his voice someday
I meet my love,
Left blind but met seeing
Joy returned, pain gone
Though I was once blind,
Love is not blind.
