My Love

I wrote in the wind
For my love to get
As fast as the wind
My letter he will get

The wind blew my letter
To my love by the sea
He looked at the wind
As my letter flew by

He tried to grab it
It flew even higher
He tripped over a rock
And fell into the sea

I wrote in the wind
And killed my love

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.

John F. Kennedy (1917-1963) Thirty-fifth President of the USA
