    My Mirror Image

"As I look into the mirror these are my thoughts, this is what I see."
I see a girl who is scared and doesn't want to face reality.
Someone who is scared to open her eyes and see the light.
A lonely girl who is filled with fright.
A girl trying to protect herself and stand on her own two feet.
She's searching for something she just can't seem to find.
Most of the time she feels like she's going out of her mind.

Just look into this girls eyes again and tell me what you see.
You really can't tell me you don't see the misery.
You are blind if you don't see the thought of death in her eyes.
And deaf if you don't hear her desperate cries.

But your on the outside looking in,
So the outer beauty covers the pain within.
You probably look at her and see a beauty queen,
But you wouldn't think that if you looked deeper and seen what she see's.
You see a nice figure, amazing eyes, and long flowing hair.
She see's her pain and wonders if anyone cares.

So I ask you this question once again,
Can you look in these eyes and tell me what you see within?
Look past that fake smile and thru her beautiful brown eyes.
Uncover her deepest secrets, let her know it's okay to confide.
Hopefully someday when you look into her eyes she won't have so much to hide.
Instead of all the sadness and hatred there will be happiness and peace inside.

    NIIIICE. Interspective. makes the point.

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
