    My Sunrise

Hiking along a narrow trail alone
    I saw a beautiful sunrise
    This one different than others
He embraces me into his warm, inviting rays
I forget about the dreadful storm following me
    The world around us disappears
Its just him and I on my island of hope
    I trust you
    Thank God for you everyday
I've never been this close to anyone
    Thunder drums behind the hills
Running scared I turned to him
Looking into his light I found courage
    I have learned
Everything is okay and always will be

The feelings are expressed in a way to make the reader walk with you... faith and nature are sacred things. Well done. I write / my voice is much the same... write on!

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
