    Nothing is lost

    I have lost

    nothing,

    your memories

    will always be mine.

    You are gone now,

But I can see you always,

    the image of what was

    and even what could

    have been.

    These are all mine,

    mine to suffer

    or fame.

    Tears so painful

    wiped from my eyes

    not by you,

    but my own hands.

    Pain in my heart now

    just gone,

    not by your words

    but by time.

    Sorrow,

    with no fault

    or blame,

    who blames life

    for change.

    Souls touch

     and combine

    in a never ending

    chemistry,

    now separate but always

a part of what is me.

    You were Mr. Right now

    not my Forever,

    who knew.

I n the end of course

I will always say I learned

    and always love you

    and it's true.

    The love is never gone

    but its chains,

    I've cut

     through.

Right on - well said and you captured me. The tone is perfect and you finally have broken the chain. -Alan

Thanks, the way I have it written is pretty much how it is read, I have tons of stuff and I have a book published of my older work. I just started posting here so I am looking forward to reading and sharing with everyone.

Poetry is when an emotion has found its thought and the thought has found words.
