Nothing More
There’s no security in the moonlight
There’s no savior for you tonight
The sky’s are cold but haven’t mislaid you
And my eyes remember you too
Terrified words under your skin
Screams surfacing from within
Like shattered glass your essence broken
Your guardian led by thoughts misspoken
Something else is always on your mind
A violent truth kept enshrined
No compassion for your punishment here
Let your dreams tear you apart my dear
My body once protected in your mind
Now shrouded in the despair confined
Skies rest over the wounded willow tree
Clouds swelling with tears just for me
Winds whisper no comfort in this place
And no more love can be seen on your face
Here my heart still reflects the sun
You softly reply what’s done is done
Now another becomes the dissolving piece
The next victim you wish to give release
Used to feed the remains of your doubt
It was always you in which we cried out
But now I know how to see right through
I touched the emptiness coming over you
Exposing you for who you pretend to be
Another soul locked away without the key
And how do we go from first to last
When passions born must die out so fast
A memory of me calls from the distance
And you begin to question my existence
My breath is now the chill in the night
My spirit no longer you’re guiding light
This window you’ve determined to close
Amazing how easily we are disposed
And in the morning when you wake my love
You won’t have what you’re undeserving of
Won’t know your face in the waters reflection
The pain you spread will become your infection
And there’s no security in the moonlight
There’s no angel sent for you tonight
The sky’s are cold but haven’t finished you
And my eyes have forgotten you too
Tormented words under your skin
Screams surfacing from within
Like shattered glass your essence broken
Your guardian led by thoughts unspoken
Something else was always on your mind
Your violent truth left undefined
