Obligation To Fly

Obligation To Fly

Running and jumping too high,
Will give you the obligation to fly,
You’ll flip and flap your arms so hard,
Only to lose wind and crash in your yard,
And in your yard you’ll stand back up,
Modify your mind and refill your cup,
Keeping keen sight on the stars and sky,
Because you have the obligation to fly.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
