    Oil and Water

You scream at me and say hurtful words
I can see the anger in your eyes.
I look back at you with tears in mine
Wondering how we have come to this.

We use to share all of our dreams
Now we don't even speak at all.
Our home has become a battleground
With slamming doors and raised voices.

We were a great pair, people would say
We use to live just for each other.
But over the years we've grown apart
    Seperately going our own ways.

    But that's what happens when
    Two people have different goals.
    Neither wanting to give in
Each selfish to their own needs.

    We're like oil and water
    Briefly blended, but alway seperating.
Never will we completely be one.

This is really good.........so true unfortunately to so many!!!!

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
