    Once told me...

    my mother once told me,
    not to talk to strangers,
    not to pick my nose,
to always use my thank you's and my no's,
to be nice, friendly, and kind,
    to have a big heart,
    and when im feeling down,
    to know shes always around,
to not always let people in,
but never to just give in,
never to trust someone a hundred percent,
    because when there gone,
    whats left?,
    whe someone needs help,
    let them help themself first,
dont let people walk all over me,
not to let people tell me what i can never be,
to make the best of my self, and most of all,
    she once told me,
    she loved me unconditionally.
like the earth of the summer beneath.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
