    Papa's Little Girl

    Since the first day,
I knew I'd love you forever.
Always be there for each other,
    Never fighting with one another.
    I'll always be.....
    Papa's little girl.

    If you're sick,
    And needing doctoring up,
I'll be your doctor until morning erupts.
    If you're hurt,
    I'll be your nurse,
To bandage your sores through the winter storms.
    'Cause I'm papa's little girl.

    Seeing you in pain,
    Makes me want to stay,
By your side until day breaks.
    Ev'ry hour, minute, and second
    Of each and ev'ry day.
    'Cause I'm papa's little girl,
And I'm keeping it that way.

    Knowing you're in the hospital,
And me wanting to run to your side.
    Makes me cry ev'rytime,
    Like when I was little.
    But also knowing,
    You're getting better,
'Cause God is on your side.

    Just know this,
    I'll always be....
    Papa's little girl

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
