Pattys Farewell

Pattys Farewell

this is a dedication to a friend retiring from work

             Pattys Farewell

                                               By Robert FIscher

Upon the tiles,

Upon the floor,

How many times,

Has she worked in our store,

.

With a wonderful smile,

With a positive pace,

To share with us,

Her charm and her grace,

.

One last round,

One last smile to remember,

Like the autumn life,

And the leaves in September.

.

I know she’ll be back,

Even just to say hi,

And we will all feel great,

Like grandmas peach pie

This is a note about formatting: be careful in choosing font color. By moving the hinge to the flat screen monitor on my laptop, I can JUST get the font to show. about the poem, the last line ocnveyed perhpas an unintended irony: peach pie characteristically has a slightly bitter aftertaste from the alkyloids in the pit.

This is really nice. I'll bet she was happy to read this.-------------------------------------------

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
