~Pearl~

Some say a diamond is a girls best friend but i prefer a pearl
Sheltered in a rough atmosphere but only to hide the precious inside
Yet diamonds may be classybut pearls are exquisite
Never to be flashy or steal the shine
Always the most noticed and quietly observed
Contray to belief of diamonds being a girls best friend
Whether she knows or not my grandmother pearl
Was one of my best friends
So yes a pearl is mine

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
