    Place For The Hat

    I placed my hat
    On that hated feat,
    And in that heat
I ate and had some tea,

While Death only had a tad.
—The date you hate is here,
He said; Even so, I was glad.

    —The date I hate?
    I would say it’s late
To captivate, I would rather celebrate,
Said I, and put my hat on my head.
