Poise
She intimidates me I must confess
Although she really sparks my interest
Began as a simple exchange of dialogue
No ulterior motives, no fog
Trying different tactics to keep her attention
Unsure what topics I could mention
Using different scenarios to spark conversation
I had to step back to picture the situation
We shared a vibe, but what is the angle
Only a spider spins a web without a tangle
Her walk is fierce as she appears to float
Her diction, her paraphrases and quotes
Extensive knowledge of politics
Even her ideas on ethics
She can simplify concepts thought to be beyond her
It requires special eyes to see wonder
Possessing qualities which are so Faberge
Simultaneously a woman and a lady
Where is the discrepancy should I dare look
She is the living definition from a textbook
Is she a figment of my imagination
Or am I disillusioned by our situation
Do other women inhabit the same plane mentally
I dug a pit and built a pedestal unintentionally
I did not perceive her as a sexual being
I just viewed her as this intricate thing
Someone convoluted and esoteric
With an appreciation for the simplistic
Although she appreciates my reasonings
She identifies better with my analogies
Our topics were never wanton on the surface
But the undertone began to have a purpose
My mind my mouth and my muscle
My talent is my curse, with that I tussle
My lifestyle was comfortable
My existence was not meaningful
I was a lifeless fish in an aquarium
Before we coalesced, my waters were requiem
It was if her voice was my revival
I clung to each word for survival
Her aura of love was deluxe
I envisioned us as swans not ducks
In her I find refuge from uncertain harm
I gain her affection not by quark but by charm
She has the ability to humble me with just a glance
Her words are not always as potent as her actions
I fear what I do not understand
Studiously I attempt to comprehend
She teaches me how to surrender
Even when I have nothing to render
I am but an irrational dreamer
Enchanted by this Muse like Diva
