Power of Words
The power of words is overrated,
When words are forgotten so fast.
If moments could be eternal and absolute,
If thoughts could find a way to last…
If we could hold our senses,
Like we cling to our possessions, so dear,
If our dreams could be tangible objects,
If we could feel hope, as strong as our fear.
If we could pour out our minds,
Onto paper for the world to know,
If we could channel our hearts,
Our secrets all to be told.
If there were no lies within us,
If there were only facts to tell,
Then stories would dry up inside us,
Tales would whither where they fell.
But if we hold on to our spirits,
And keep our emotions our own.
Then our words may no longer be hidden,
And our thoughts will forever be known.
