Providence in our lives.

Providence in our lives.

Lord,  I've seen your love today, in many different ways,
You've shown me what your Person's like, that you're alive always.

I saw you in the dawns first light, when splendid rays of sun,
pushed back reluctant shades of dark,  Lord, you can't be outdone.

I saw you in the courtesy, of one who held my door,
he gladly stood and took his time, and let in several more.

I saw you in the pleasant face, of one who's kindness showed,
and when approached by those quite rude, grace from his lips still flowed.

I saw you in the eager face, of my own ten year old,
he offered me a drink and said,  I'll make it good and cold.

I recognized you in the sound, of perfect blended music,
it's splendid sweet chords were enhanced, by proper built accoustics.

I witnessed you today as well, in one who had remorse,
also in one who showed restraint, when pushed and shoved by force.

I notice that at times you work, in unforseen events,
you put us in the lives of those, who have those selfish bents.

Today I asked forgiveness, from one whose path I crossed,
You're love in him, to me replied, our friendship's not been lost.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
