    "Chicken Truck"

    “Oh, Chicken Truck”

    Chicken Truck oh, Chicken Truck

By the road there you sit stuck

Your shiny hood stuck straight up high.

As all the big trucks pass you by

Your big Cat engine tore apart

And now you sit alone there parked

Your ten inch straights that bellowed loud

The sound of Jakes that made you proud

Your 15 speed that helped tote your load

Has left you sitting on the road

You’re many lights that lit your way

They can’t help you this awful day

    Chicken Truck oh, Chicken Truck

I’d hate to have your trucking luck.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
