    "I Love Him"

    It happened so unexpetedly,
the joy between him and me,
    I think,
    I loved him.

    Without a kiss,
    a touch,
or a hug, he had me druged,
    yes,
    I loved him.

My days are not the same,
he left my life as abruptly as he came,
    I think,
    I realy loved him.

    His smile,
    our laughs,
    looking in those eyes,
    I no longer have,
    yes,
    I loved him.

    No movie,
    No song,
can remove this feeling of being alone,
    I really loved him.

I miss the time we spent together,
    our conversations about whatever,
I miss the joy we shared,
how he showed me that he cared,
    I trully loved him.

Sitting here with tears in my eyes,
    I've come to realize,
    I still love him.

I wished he would come back to me,
and things would return to how they use to be,
    because as you can see,
    I really, really love him.

To see the joy in his eyes,
    to experience his handsome smile,
it would all be worth while,
    to let him know,
    I love him.

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
