"Missing Him"
Wake up in the middle of the dark night,
reaching out across the bed,
total emptiness thats in his place.
The silent tears that roll down my face,
maybe to fill the void thats in his place.
Each tear holds a memory,
all the moments in that bed,
laughing together.
I can almost still smell him,
on his pillow.
I can only wonder,
if he was reaching out for me too,
where he is,
so far away.
But back to sleep I must to go,
to another place....
Where I can be in his strong arms again,
only to wake again alone.
Army wives bleed too,
Red, white, and blue.
reaching out across the bed,
total emptiness thats in his place.
The silent tears that roll down my face,
maybe to fill the void thats in his place.
Each tear holds a memory,
all the moments in that bed,
laughing together.
I can almost still smell him,
on his pillow.
I can only wonder,
if he was reaching out for me too,
where he is,
so far away.
But back to sleep I must to go,
to another place....
Where I can be in his strong arms again,
only to wake again alone.
Army wives bleed too,
Red, white, and blue.
