    "Roads"

    THE ROAD SEEMS ENDLESS
    THE SKYLINE GOES ON FOREVER
    EVERY CITY DIMINISHES IN SIZE
EVEN THE TELEPHONE POLES STREWN ALONG THE HIGHWAY
    GET FURTHER AND FURTHER APART
    THIS VASTLAND IS NOW EMPTY
    NO AWATING VISITORS
NO ONE WILLING TO OCCUPY IT
IT IS SOMBER WITH THE REMNANTS
    OF PAST AGGRESSORS
THE PEOPLE WHO WHO ONCE TRAVELED THIS LAND
ARE NOW BUT A FORGOTTEN MEMORY
    THE ROAD LEADS NOWHERE
AND STILL IT COMES FROM NOWHERE
THE PEOPLE WHO ONCE TRAVELED THIS LAND
    THEY ARE THE LOST HEROS
    THE LOST GENERATIONS
    THEY ONCE PLANTED A SEED
    HOPING FOR PROSPERITY
    YET NOTHING CAM OF IT
    BECAUSE IT IS NOTHING
    AND CAME FROM NOTHING
ACCORDING TO THE STRANGERS OF THIS LAND....

love the imagery! i see a world in dis array. a land in slow repair from past confliction. inwardly, it reminds me vaguely of a long broken heart.

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

    Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
