"She Sleeps"
She Lays her body down for a restful sleep,
With her mind settling down,
No need to count sheep,
Till she slowly started to drown.
She started dreaming,
Darkness was covering her mind,
The devil was soon scheming,
He wasn't very kind.
She opened her eyes,
And saw a man sitting on the bed,
Staring her down with lies,
Talking to her words she dread.
Trying to figure out why he was there,
Wondering how to escape,
Talking terrible things with a deep glare,
The covers she did drape.
Squirmming to get out,
Only to be wishing how,
Feeling full of doubt,
Sweat on her brow.
Waking up to a ringing,
She knew he had left,
Tears in her eyes stinging,
Feelings drawn in theft.
I wrote this about my daughter who is going through a terrible divorce. And she had a nightmare of a spirit that she thought was really there. It seemed so real to her. And after she told me about it. These words came to me.
With her mind settling down,
No need to count sheep,
Till she slowly started to drown.
She started dreaming,
Darkness was covering her mind,
The devil was soon scheming,
He wasn't very kind.
She opened her eyes,
And saw a man sitting on the bed,
Staring her down with lies,
Talking to her words she dread.
Trying to figure out why he was there,
Wondering how to escape,
Talking terrible things with a deep glare,
The covers she did drape.
Squirmming to get out,
Only to be wishing how,
Feeling full of doubt,
Sweat on her brow.
Waking up to a ringing,
She knew he had left,
Tears in her eyes stinging,
Feelings drawn in theft.
