Radio Flyer
I had a little red wagon, I was ten years old
walking around with this wagon in tow
Everyone knew me on the streets of my hometown
Picking up bottles by the side of the road, filling it up till I had a full load
then i'd take them all down to sell at the general store
I was the happiest kid in town, towing that little red wagon around
My flyer
Radio flyer
I found that wagon in a field one day
Some other child had thrown it away
it's handle was missing and all of it's wheels were gone
I took it back home and re-painted it red
made a new handle from an old bed stead
and the wheels I got from Mr. Quinton at the Hardware store
I can still see it standing there a thing of pride
I can still see the name written on the side
Flyer
Radio flyer
In that wagon my mind ran wild,
I could live all the dreams I had as a child
being a race car driver just flying high
Going down the hill with the wind in my face
I can't remember ever losing a race
but old number seven he was always on my tail
I can hear the crowd cheering as I crossed the line
No one around could ever beat the time of the flyer
My Radio Flyer
I grew up and the wagon got old
Where it went I never knew
'till one day we were tearing down a shed on the family farm
there with the planks and boards overhead
my son spotted something painted red
He said "dad take it down lets see what it's all about"
and for just one moment I was a kid again
I said " hop in son lets take it for a spin"
My Flyer
