    Free from my cage

    Real Me

For the first time I can feel it.
I can feel the fire burning inside me.
Telling me to go for it.
Go for the dreams I'm reaching for.
I'm reaching for the real me.
    I'm so close.
    Just a little bit further.
I can become what I dream of.
I will become the Me that I love.
I will become the Real Me.
    The Me no one knows.
    I can do it.
I can be the Real Me.
    I can be set Free.
    Free at last.

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
