    RED, BROWN AND YELLOW

Oh Red! How you make me turn my head.
Don’t know how to determine if you’re sweet or just sour instead.
Call me in the middle of the night to see if I’m okay.
Won’t even hear a word from you the next day.
Play little child games like you’re four years old.
You didn’t have to lie to me ‘cause back then I was twenty-three,
so let the truth be told.
    While you’re playing your games,
I’m going out on the town.
You can pick and choose while I find me a Brown.
Brown will keep me laughing all night,
light a candle light and if I pick out something he likes,
he’ll be like yeah that’s tight.
But I like to go places and travel, Brown don’t.
I’ll find me a yellow that would go to Puerto Rico with me,
    because Brown won’t.
Yellow is cool, he knows what he wants
    and likes what he do.
Take me out on a walk to the beach, tell me I’m sweet.
Take me to a fine restaurant and say that’s all you’re going to eat.
So I think I’m going to give him a call. He seems to have it all.
The only negative is – I’m a little bit tall.

This is a cute poem with a message. I liked the way you ended it and look forward to reading more of your writings.

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.
