Reluctant Heart

Reluctant Heart

Hold me at a distance

So afraid to touch

Inside heart is breaking

Long for you so much

Choke back tears

Swallow deeply

Strength is what I’ve claimed,

Walk away so silent

Never knowing any pain

Mind spins circles

Heart’s despair

Happiness, memories

Know you care....

Still

Yet you…

Hold me at a distance

So afraid to touch

Inside heart is breaking

Long for you so much

Simple but deep in its expression of longing and love.

I can definitely feel the pain of your unrequited love! Keep writing with feeling......

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.

Aristotle (384 BC-322 BC) Greek philosopher.
